Marketing
through Passport Online's Distribution Network
What
is the VacationPort Network and how does it work?
Since 1995, Passport Online has been
distributing leisure travel product offers to retail agencies
and consortia who use Passport Online’s VacationPort system
to promote leisure travel to their clients.
Working closely with the leading leisure travel suppliers,
Passport Online aggregates the latest product information
and pricing into the central VacationPort database. Each product
offer is formatted to be displayed within any web site or
email promotion. Each offer is also given attributes identifying
the destination, type of travel, effective dates (auto purge),
interests and supplier information, so that consumers can
quickly search and find specific types of travel offers.
There are three different interfaces of
VacationPort:
- Site Administration
— allows agency or consortia to manage their version(s) of VacationPort, select and preference suppliers, and view online activity reports.
- AgentPort —
the extranet view for agents to use as both a research tool for clients and as an email marketing portal (as seen in example below, right).
- Consumer view —
is the most widely accessed view of offers and provides the consumer with information and pricing for specific offers, with an opportunity to shop before contacting the agent.
The VacationPort Network is a consumer
promotional network for suppliers. Over 90% of all activity
is created by consumers, so the primary emphasis of the VacationPort
is to promote the latest leisure travel offers to the clients
of the members of the Network. Click

Who are the major retail customers using VacationPort to promote leisure travel to consumers?
- Major consortia clients: AAA, American Express, Carlson Leisure Group (CWT, Cruise Holidays, Results, Trip Force), Cruise Shoppes, Ensemble Travel Group, Jurni, Navigant/SATO, Uniglobe USA and Vacation.com.
- Independent agent groups: Agenta, Global Travel Intl, Joystar, Prestige Travel, Travel Service Network and many other agencies who have large outside agent networks.)
Suppliers participating in the VacationPort
Network are provided an extranet (PromotionPort) where they
can view live reports on Network activity.
